It’s Only Love, released in 1985 was a rock duet by Grammy award winners Bryan Adams and Tina Turner. The song is taken from Bryan’s fourth studio album Reckless which went on to sell over 12 million records worldwide making it one of Adams’ best selling albums. The single was the sixth and last single to be released from the album.

Chart Performance

Being the sixth single from a massively sold album, the record still did well chart wise considering. The highest position the single reached was a number 5 in Sweden and made it in the top 20 in seven countries where it peaked at number 15 on the US Billboard 200 and number 14 in his home country Canada. In the UK the single reached number 29 and failed to make the top 40 in Australia reaching number 52.

Adams told Songfacts that this was his most memorable collaboration of all the ones he has done. He explained: “Working with Tina Turner was amazing. I used to go to see her in the clubs when I was in my late teens/early 20s before she hit the big time. It was incredible to watch her.” He added: “It was such a privilege to have sung with her, especially since I was only 24 at the time.”

80’s rock at it’s best.
