The UK TV show ‘The Big Reunion’ has been such a big success this year with it being ITV2’s highest rated new show in five years and establishing itself as its third most popular programme behind Celebrity Juice and The Only Way Is Essex.

The show’s purpose is for popular pop bands from the late 90’s and early 00’s to reunite.  The original idea was for the bands to do one show at the iconic HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London.

Bands for the series were announced on the 18th October 2012. Those bands were; Five, 911, Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, Honeyz and Liberty X. Later on in the show, boy band Blue joined too.

With the first series being so successful, they announced an UK & Ireland arena tour for May which starts on the 3rd in Sheffield and the tour will visit The O2 Arena in London a few weeks later. Due to the May tour being so popular, they announced a Christmas Tour for this December too with the same acts playing as far as we know.

As you can see, this show has had such a great response and there are already talks and rumours of a second series. No confirmation that next year there will be, but it is definitely is a great idea. But which bands could take part, and how likely will they?

Here are some of the bands that could take part:

S Club 7, who have a huge back cataloge that people still remember and love today. Will they do the show though? 3 of them have already reformed and done a few small shows here and there but how likely that they do the full reunion? It has been said they are considering a reunion but no reliable sources to back this up or whether they will do their own TV show like Steps in 2011.

How likely? 3/5

Early 90’s girl band anyone? There has been a lot of talk from the fans of the show wanting Eternal to reunite. Would Louise Redknapp join the line up or would the 2nd line up just do it? There hasn’t been any talk or rumours that they’ll do it or reunite but I’m sure they would get a great response.

How likely? 2/5

Late 90’s girl band of three sisters Cleopatra who had their own UK TV show, successful debut album and even broke into the US market as well as becoming Cover Girls over there. Who needs America’s Next Top Model??

It also has been said that Cleo from the band has recently auditioned for The Voice UK. If she doesn’t make it, like Sean from Five didn’t – will she decide to go back to her sisters?

How likely? 3/5

Slightly forgotten boy band from the 90’s maybe, but did have many top 10 hits. Most famous for boy band member Dane Bowers who also had a solo career. Even though the boys have been very quiet when talking about the band, I’m sure if they were asked to reunite for the show, they’d be up for it!

How likely? 3/5

Mega successful girl band All Saints were up there with the Spice Girls in the late 90’s and early 00’s. They reunited again in 2006 and had a successful come back single ‘Rock Steady’ but after that it went a bit down hill and they decided to split again. Melanie Blatt has reportedly said multiple times in the past that the band would never reunite again.

How likely? 2/5

2000’s pop garage any one? Alesha has apparently said that she would love the band who reunite soon and Sabrina said that one day something will happen whether that be the full reunion or a one off show. In 2008 Alesha Dixon was interviewed on Lily Allen’s Show ‘Lily Allen And Friends’ whether she had been offered a reunion in the past and she said she had. Do we want Mis-Teeq? YES WE DO!!

How likely? 4/5

Remember them? They burst onto the scenes with popular singles ‘Nu Flow’ and ‘Favourite Things’ but how likely will there be a reunion? Two of the girls became ‘Booty Luv’ after the band and found success. Recently the girls have released new music but would they ever go back to the Big Brovaz?

How likely? 2/5

Yes yes, I know!! They have reformed already and are still together but they haven’t actually reformed in the UK. Blue were the same, reformed and focused on Asia and parts of Europe and still joined the show, so would A1? It is for sure a good platform to get back into the UK market.

How likely? 4/5

Reality TV Show Popstars winners Hear’Say may have had a short career before splitting but there has been rumours that there might be a reunion. How true is this? probably not very. Especially considering 3 of the girls now have their own careers in acting and TV and apparently the boys auditioning for The Voice UK this year too.

How likely? 2/5

If it worked for Take That, maybe it would for East 17?

How likely? 3/5

So, do you want a second series? and who would you like to join and who do you think is likely?
